Life Coaching
Life coaching* is a modality of counseling practice that focuses on
identifying what you want, and making it happen! A coach helps you
create solutions that empower and inspire you. A coach helps you
take intelligent action in the present so you can move into your
desired future more easily and enjoyably. You can target any goal:
career acceleration, completing a degree, losing weight, mastering a
skill, increasing physical fitness, enhancing relationships,
creating a lifestyle with more freedom and fun, and more. What
goal would you go for if you where confident in reaching it?
“Hmmm, I would love to ____.” What if it could be easier than
others have told you?

*Life coaching is not for clients in emotional distress – that’s the
domain of counseling. Clinical depression, anxiety, mood disorders,
OCD, eating disorders, phobias, and other similar conditions must
first be addressed in mental health counseling. As progress and
healing occurs, life coaching can later be a way for clients to
engage with their world on new terms and with new results.

Integrated Counseling
Over the years many schools of
therapy have emerged, and all have strengths and weaknesses. No one
approach is “the right way,” even though some ardent psychological
gurus would disagree. What works or creates healthy change for you
is “your right way.” The overall goal in therapy is to empower you
so that you can take the experience of therapy out into the world,
and continue to use that experience to create a satisfying life.
Integrated Counseling means that while I offer Cognitive-Behavioral
therapy, professionally considered the gold standard in counseling,
I can also offer other approaches. These include Adlerian,
Psychodynamic, Existential, Rogerian, Reality, Gestalt, Feminist,
Solution Focused, Family Systems, Structural, Communication, and
Strategic therapy. The last four schools of therapy are
applications of Systems Theory, the “quantum physics” of counseling
theories. My clients find that they benefit from an integration of
these approaches, and therefore receive a holistic form of therapy
that is driven by their needs instead of a “one size fits all”
approach.
